Theft of motor vehicle - Herondale Avenue SW18

Officers are appealing for information following a Theft of Motor Vehicle.

At some time between the 12/04/26 2300 hours – 13/04/26 0700 hours a Black Land Rover defender was stolen from HERONDALE AVENUE SW18. Fortunately, this vehicle was tracked by the tracking company to WEST NORWOOD.

A unit attended and searched surrounding roads where this car was found.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who has any information about who may be responsible for this incident.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
